How Birds Dress for Success

this guy knows he looks good on pink. so he hangs out in cherry trees. that's how he picks up all the lady birds. i need to get a yacht. ocean really brings out my eyes.

I'm Contributing to the Weirdness

this. . . this is a cat head. floating in space. as if asking for just a cat head wasn't weird enough, it had to be in space. aaaand in the middle of writing this i just realized that i've already painted a cat head in space. WITH LASER EYES. the internet is weird.

Tiny Guy and a Big Guy

i talked about how excited i was to finally be home to post on a weekend but then i forgot yesterday! i was distracted because i was coordinating performing my first ever live streaming Power Hour Concert on the web. it went pretty darn well. now here's today's painting and the one i missed yesterday.



pygmy goats are smug little jerks. they think they're better than regular goats because they're the sleeker, smaller model.




are these things endangered? i've never seen one in nature so i imagine that's the case. too bad because i bet they're delicious.

i'm glad nature gave one of it's creatures a clown nose. i wonder if it honks when you squeeze it.

My Music Deserves a Warning

i was thinking it would be cool to have a robot that followed me around to just point out when things are dangerous. then i realized he wouldn't shut up for 60 minutes straight during my concerts.

this is from a book series called discworld. i mean, i know it's a successful series. but a world that's a flat disc balanced on the backs of four elephants which, in turn, stand on the back of a giant turtle, kind of sounds like something a six-year-old would come up with.

Palaverous Poem Painting

i'm not posting for the rest of the weekend because i'm going to NYC to play at the Brooklyn Bowl!! holycrap. now i have something in common with kanye and adele because they've both performed there. am i cool enough to go by one name yet?



the requester wanted "A man, wearing a suit, on wooden stilts, with his head in a cloud." he said it was based on the poem [below] called "To Others Than You". i wonder if i made the clouds cunning enough. Friend by enemy I call you out.
You with a bad coin in your socket,
You my friend there with a winning air
Who palmed the lie on me when you looked
Brassily at my shyest secret,
Enticed with twinkling bits of the eye
Till the sweet tooth of my love bit dry,
Rasped at last, and I stumbled and sucked,
Whom now I conjure to stand as thief
In the memory worked by mirrors,
With unforgettably smiling act,
Quickness of hand in the velvet glove
And my whole heart under your hammer,
Were once such a creature, so gay and frank
A desireless familiar
I never thought to utter or think
While you displaced a truth in the air,
That though I loved them for their faults
As much as for their good,
My friends were enemies on stilts
With their heads in a cunning cloud.

Paying Attention to Details

the request was for me to recreate the famous painting called "Garden of Earthly Delights" [see below]. i think i nailed it.

Not Very Weird for My Blog, Though

it's kind of weird that the bull has eyes and the moth doesn't but i really liked how the moth looked without eyes so i didn't want to add them in. oh, it's also weird that this is a painting of a moth riding a bull.
